This was my favorite Christmas coffee mug. It was Winnie the Pooh, and had Tigger playing a trumpet. Went into the kitchen to refill it and it simply slipped out of my hand. Bah Fucking Humbug.

Glue it, bro. Wouldn't be the first time. Adds character.

Yeah, but then I probably couldn't drink out of it any more. Might see if I can find one on ebay. You never know.

Might be the most expensive mug you'll ever buy.

Doubtful. ttyymmnn has a well known mug buying habit.

$5.99? Probably less than I paid when it was new. Thanks again.

Yeah. That's too bad. That kind of stuff reminds you not to define yourself by your articles, but sometimes you really rely on them.

Glue it together and use it to hold your spare change. This time next year, take said change and buy a new one! :D

Can you glue a mug back together, drink out of it, and not die?
Sounds like a project for the Science Fair...

It didn't define me per se , it was just important to me. I'm trying to hang on to whatever shreds of Christmas tradition I can, and this was one of them, at least for me. But it's replaceable.

There's a thought. I'm not worried about dying so much as having scalding coffee pour on me when the glue fails.

JB Weld. It's always the answer. Except when Miata is.

This is just another reason why I love this place. For the most part it's full of maniacal car (and motorcycle, and plane) nuts, but there is a compassionate community feel to this place. There are limited fights or skirmishes and folks have a genuine interest in their hobby _and_ the people that share that interest...
Speaking of keeping old traditions alive... Mom used to always make me eat hot Cream of Wheat on winter mornings before shoving me out the door to the schoolbus stop. I never cared for the stuff back then... However, over the past few years, I have started making a bowl of hot Cream of Wheat with brown sugar and cream on cold winter mornings - just like mom used to make. Puts a smile on my face every time. :-)
I hope you can get that mug on eBay, ttyymmnn. Merry Christmas !

Try cream of wheat with maple syrup. It's quite tasty. If you make it thick enough, it's possible to take leftover cream of wheat, slice it, and fry it in a frying pan with a little butter/margarine.
(Yes, I'm Canadian... Why do you ask?)

I'm sorry, what's going on with the layers on the ceramic with this cup? This looks like an inpressiante piece.
